10 THINGS TO DO IN QUARANTINE AT HOME

The whole world is in the same state at the same time ….together in
isolation due to COVID-19. From a busy life with hardly any time to moving
around or sitting for so many hours having nothing to do is really
unimaginable.
Life changes suddenly from spending time to killing time. It’s a
difficult time but, let’s consider this time as an opportunity to improve and
develop. People are doing different things to kill time during this pandemic. You probably think that “what
can I do now?”
Well, don’t worry. There are so many things that you can do at home.
If you feel stuck, here are my few suggestions by which you
can kill time in quarantine.
Read a book
Grab a book
or a magazine and find a peaceful place in your living area, in your garden, or
anywhere else in your house, where you feel relax and go through it. Normally
most of us hardly have time to read. So, this is a golden opportunity to avail.
By reading you can not only increase your knowledge and adds a lot in your
vocab, but it’s a great way to overcome depression, anxiety, and frustration.

Maybe you
always want to read harry potter series or the Games of Thrones but just
because of your daily hectic schedule you can’t read. Now you have plenty of
time to kill. So, just sit back, grab a book, and get immersed in it.
Go for a walk or do exercise a home
Staying at home during this pandemic can be stressful. But it’s very
necessary to maintain a healthier lifestyle in order to build up our immunity.
As our routine is restricted due to COVID-19, so, we should minimize our screen
time and news feeds, and do some physical exercise daily.

Go to the gym, go for a jog, have a walk, a run, a stretch, a little bit of yoga, or anything that you can do easily. Many trainers and gyms are offering online classes.
YouTube is a great source. You can find a video of exercise or
yoga of any length or intensity according to your body capacity. Besides this, there are many apps, trackers, and so many journals (in which articles are
published on fitness on regular basis) that can help you stay fit and motivated.
Play a board/card game with your family

You may feel
sick and tired just because of staying all day at home or around your
family. So get your mind off the stress by playing a fun game with your family.
Grab a game board and have a game with them. You can play other indoor games
also.
Learn how to play an instrument

Search on
YouTube and look up a tutorial on how to play a song on your choice of
instrument. At the start, people around you may feel annoying, but the best way
is that chose the one in which others around you are also interested. Practice
daily and play it again and again. You will get good results in a few days.
Take an online certification course
It’s a time
to learn something new. Registered yourself to an online course and get a new
skill. You can sign up for a course to learn how to start an online career. No
one knows how long this quarantine will go. So, learn how to earn online
i.e. freelancing, and secure yours and your family’s future.
Get certified from Adobe Creative Cloud or
Microsoft Suite that will surely help you in writing resumes. Besides this, you
can also start a course like this or create your own YouTube channel.
Learn how to cook and Make dinner for your family
Most of us have
a busy life and we can’t focus on our beloved ones on normal days. So, quarantine gives you a great chance to spend time with them and also focus on
polishing your skills, or learn something new.
You can learn new recipes or make a special dinner for your family. It is a great idea to spend quality time with your family while cooking brownies, cakes, desserts, or any new recipes.

Well, wash
your hand and start experimenting with new recipes. Just give a try to the recipes
that normally you just ordered, because of a shortage of time or those that you
just saw on cooking channels or YouTube.
Besides
learning new recipes, strengthen yours and your family's immune system by adding
leafy vegetables, fruits, and healthier recipes to your meals. Say no to junk foods and carbonated drinks
during this period, and let your immune system to be strengthened.
Learn a new language
Try learning a new language you want to learn and do a little bit of it
daily. You may have a future plan to study abroad. So it’s the time to learn
some new words and phrases to get fluency in the required language.
You can also overcome your weakness and learning some new words. You
can improve your vocab. There are so many apps like Duolingo, memrise that help you in learning new words, languages, and many more.
Clean and manage your house
Clean and
organize your house. As you have to stay
at home, all the time now, so, organize it very well. Organize your closets and get rid of
anything that doesn’t in your use anymore.

Clean your makeup brushes. Do
laundry and donate old clothes to charity. Rearrange your furniture. Move your
bed to different walls. Redecorate your living spaces. Slides your desk and
start a garden.
Spend some quality time with your family

It’s a time
when all the family members are at home. Normally, just because of your study
or work you are away from your family, and can’t spend time with them. You can make something for your family, or
play the game with your siblings, or parents your loved ones. Just spend some time
with them to show that you care. We all need it now.
Look through
the ingredients you have and find a recipe you and all your family members
will enjoy. They will defiantly help you and appreciate your effort.
If you are
not with them, make a phone call. There are so many social media apps through
which you can not only share your pictures and videos but also make an audio
and video call at any time from anywhere.

We normally
have no time to watch more shows and serials but we always want to watch. Now
we have time. You have a chance to watch all those long movies or serials you put
off just because of a shortage of time. Watch a documentary or movie you like.
Watch your favorite series on Netflix.
